Do you love building new products? Are you interested in helping ensure the Internet is a global public resource, open and accessible to all? We’re inviting a select group of visionary individuals to explore and develop groundbreaking product ideas alongside our team. Mozilla Pioneers is an intensive two month product residency program during which participants will develop and prototype a new product concept, with the opportunity to potentially join us full-time to bring the concept to market.
We’re looking for builders, designers, and technologists who are deeply committed to Mozilla’s mission of shaping an Internet that is open, accessible, and humane. The Pioneers program is specifically designed for individuals eager to push the boundaries of AI, code, and culture, particularly those who excel at the intersection of experimental innovation and ethical development.
Candidates should possess the following qualities:
- Adaptability: Accustomed to operating effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and comfortable with iterative development processes.
- Creative Exploration: Thrive on creative exploration, rapid prototyping, and iterative problem-solving, demonstrating a passion for bringing novel ideas to life.
- Strategic Execution: Able to seamlessly navigate between high-level strategic thinking and practical implementation, translating big ideas into tangible products.
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to clearly and persuasively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences, both verbally and in writing.
- Management Experience or Potential: Demonstrated leadership qualities or prior experience in managing projects, teams, or product development cycles.
- Alignment with Mozilla’s Values: Strongly drawn to Mozilla’s core values of transparency, decentralization, and user agency.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiar with generative AI (gen AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), as well as other emerging tools and products within the AI landscape.
- Prototyping Skills: Comfortable utilizing “vibecoding” tools such as Replit, Cursor, Windsurf, and Lovable to create compelling prototypes that effectively illustrate their product concepts.
While prior startup experience is preferred, it is not a prerequisite. We are primarily seeking individuals with the inherent drive and leadership qualities necessary to take a product from its nascent stage (“zero to one”) to a successful market entry.
